Treasurer

Christopher Zilar is a dedicated professional currently serving as the Director of Vocational Rehabilitation at the Spokane Tribe of Indians since 2016. His diverse career path includes roles as a truck driver, school teacher, HIV prevention specialist, and manager for a local chamber of commerce specializing in diversity and inclusion.

In his current position, Christopher finds profound fulfillment, emphasizing that he gains more from his work than he gives. Working within the Spokane Tribe, he witnesses the values of respect for elders, the sanctity of life, and a profound prioritization of family above all else.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Christopher has extended his impact through three medical mission trips to Rwanda, a country in central Africa. His connections in Rwanda run deep, as he has unofficially adopted a friend and facilitated their relocation to the United States.

Christopher and his wife have created a life rooted in the beauty of nature, residing about an hour northwest of Spokane, WA, along the Spokane River, adjacent to the Spokane Tribe's land. Their family includes six grown children, two grandchildren, a dog, and a cat. Together, they devote their free time to developing their land, exploring through camping and travel, or simply cherishing moments by the river, hand in hand. Christopher's journey reflects a commitment to community, family, and the enrichment of lives both locally and globally.
