Mary Lundy Meruvia, a dedicated Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), currently serves as the Program Director for the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians’ Vocational Rehabilitation Services Program. With a remarkable tenure that spans since 1988, she initially embarked on her journey with the tribe as a Rehabilitation Counselor and Vocational Evaluator.
Throughout her extensive career, Mary has actively engaged in the Consortia of Administrators for Native American Rehabilitation (CANAR) since 1993. Over the years, she has contributed significantly to the organization, whether in holding office, chairing committees, or fulfilling work tasks. Additionally, Mary is a proud member of the National Rehabilitation Association and its state chapter, the Rehabilitation Association of Mississippi. Her commitment extends to her role as an appointed member of the Mississippi State Rehabilitation Council.
Residing near Philadelphia, Mississippi, Mary's life outside of rehabilitation work is equally enriching. She follows in her father's footsteps as an aspiring farmer, managing a Certified Tree Farm that produces timber and commercial beef cattle on a fourth-generation family farm.
Beyond her professional and agricultural pursuits, Mary takes immense pride in her role as a parent. Her biggest life accomplishment is raising three accomplished and productive adults: Ouida, William, and Sophia. Mary Lundy Meruvia stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of a thriving career, agricultural passion, and the joys of parenthood.
